The  preoccupation of  outdoor  life  in the middle 1980’s started the  industry of  ecotourism  , although  the term was not coined yet then.

Adventure tours  was the catch word for the outdoor crazy travelers who had cash to spare for even the most difficult trek or the most inaccessible destination .  Bhutan still cashes on it by insisting on a high value tour  package with  lowest  impact on the culture of its people. The government, convinced of its potential took active participation by investing on the tourist facilities and eventually turning it over to the private sector which still continues to cater the high end market to maximize revenue generation for the community. Bhutan’s case is the ideal blend of economics and ecology.

Yes that's how the group spells out their name. And yes each member's faith in Him  is amazingly without limits.  Daily miracles characterized the journey of the choir from start to the present including  their six month journey around the United States during the second half of 2002.

The Message is listen and trust  in the Supreme Being who  is in  control and who has nothing but the best for each one of us .

 When you believe The Message your faith is bound to be without limits. Such boundless faith of the musical director, Gina Raakin , inspired the group to claim “Faith Unlimited”  as the rightful name for their choir and “When You Believe” as the title of the  concert they did in the different cities in the United States.

My Battle Against Tanon Strait

It is January 02 ,2003 and Tanon Strait is in rage. The waves  are wild and unruly striking its fury  on the rocks , sand and mangrove roots and  trunks on its path . It has been relentless for the last twenty -four hours. The tide is rising and it will be its highest for the next four nights at 1meter and 80 centimeters. With that depth  you can imagine the fury of the waves. It could be a hundred times more than when it is low tide . And because the highest  tide from  October till March is at night, the darkness which  magnifies the sound  of the raving waves can drive anyone into panic

My Battle Against Tanon Strait (part 2)

The sand bags held , the tires fought and the bamboo groins stood all throughout the four day scare of the furious ,raging Northeast Monsoon during the New Moon last weekend. The waves were kept at bay from the weak soil dikes. A triumphant look  on the faces of our workers  on the last day  said we survived the fight once more

The Dipolog School of Fisheries

Commitment is alive among our civil servants, exemplified by the the people who run the Dipolog School of Fisheries. Seeing then work and listening to their discussion on what’s going on in their school makes me forget about the travel ban and the bomb scare . They go about their mission no matter what.
